The Old Bat & Ball

Nestled in the heart of historic St Albans, Hertfordshire, this beautifully renovated two-bedroom apartment offers a unique blend of old-world charm and modern design. Once the Bat & Ball pub, which held the title of the city’s smallest pub until the 1980s, the space has been thoughtfully reimagined into a stunning Airbnb rental. Our design honours the building’s rich history while introducing contemporary elements that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The loft bedroom, with its exposed rafters, is a sanctuary of deep green hues and luxurious velvets, evoking a sense of intimacy and calm. Meanwhile, the double guest bedroom has been transformed with playful pops of colour, offering a lighthearted contrast to the more serene spaces.

The living room is a jewel-toned oasis, with rich, vibrant colours adding. A cozy hammock nook has been added in the hallway, a perfect spot for relaxation. Throughout the renovation, we collaborated closely with skilled tradespeople, including decorators, metal workers, and electricians, ensuring every detail was meticulously crafted to preserve the building's historic character while providing the modern amenities that make this apartment a truly exceptional retreat.
